Telekom Austria commercially launched its operation in Macedonia this week.

Vip, takes the third slot in the country behind T-Mobile and OTE’s Cosmofon.

The new entrant claims to offer some of the cheapest voice prices, giving customers a single round the clock tariff of MKD7.7.

“In addition to the license fee of Eur10m we also will invested a further Eur50m in Macedonia towards infrastructure, services, a customer service centre and our distribution network by 2010. Furthermore, we have already hired more than 120 Macedonian specialists and are creating additional jobs through our local suppliers,” said Boris Nemsic, CEO of the Telekom Austria Group and CEO of mobilkom austria.
