Operator group TeliaSonera has completed its management reshuffle, appointing Swisscom executive Henriette Wendt as its head of group corporate development. Wendt currently serves as European operator group Swisscom’s head of corporate strategy and participation management and will assume her new role in August.
The group shook up its management team in December last year followingthe dismissal of four senior executive members earlier that month. At the time, the operator announced the creation of 12 management positions but left two vacancies open; a head of strategy and business development and a commercial head. The operator announced the appointment of Hélène Barnekow as chief commercial officer in February this year.
As head of group corporate development, Wendt will be responsible for strategy, business development, mergers and acquisitions across the group, said TeliaSonera.
The operator group also announced that it has promoted Ingrid Stenmark to head of the CEO Office. TeliaSonera said that Stenmark has been with the firm for many years, holding various positions. The CEO Office is responsible for TeliaSonera’s shareholdings in Russian operator MegaFon and Turkish operator Turkcell. She will report to the CEO but will not form part of the group executive management. Meanwhile head of group human resources Karin Eliasson has left the firm.
The December reshuffle came after four senior employees left the firm as a consequence of some of its transactions “not being in line with sound business practices”.
