Operator group Vodafone has signed up Latin American operator Datora Telecom to its Vodafone Partner Market agreement and as Vodafone’s non-equity partner, Datora Telecom has agreed to rebrand its mobile arm to Vodafone Brasil with immediate effect.
As part of its global strategy, Vodafone signs partner market agreements with local mobile operators to enable Vodafone global products and services to be marketed in that operator’s territory. According to the group, Datora Telecom was the first mobile virtual network enabler to set up in Brazil. In August this year, Vodafone signed a deal with Datora Telecom to set up its own M2M brand in Brazil, which was Vodafone’s first fully branded operation to be launched in the Americas.

“Our new Vodafone Brasil partner market relationship with Datora Telecom will help support the growing number of multinational companies looking to expand in Brazil,” said Ravinder Takkar, chief executive of Vodafone Partner Markets.
“Around half of our 1,700 multinational customers already have employees based in the country: a trend which looks set to continue. Firms in sectors as diverse as automotive, security, utilities, medical and finance are looking to adopt M2M and unified communications products and services to enhance productivity, and we are pleased to work with Datora Telecom to offer these transformative technologies in one of the world’s major emerging economies.”
Following the deal signed in August, Datora Telecom will continue to work with Vodafone Group Enterprise to offer M2M products and services to business customers, with unified voice and data mobile communications services and advanced enterprise roaming propositions to follow in 2014.
