Vodafone is reported to have won the battle for Deutsche Telekom’s Spanish ISP, Ya.com, with a bid of between Eur400m and Eur500m.

Big Red looks to have beaten off a number of rivals, including Spanish broadband service provider Jazztel and mobile operator Orange.

Ya.com is the country’s fourth largest broadband provider with about 400,000 subscribers.

The service provider recently launched a Microsoft TV-based pay TV service, offering 25 thematic channels via DVR-enabled set-tops boxes for Eur6 a month. The company plans to add digital-terrestrial channels and video on demand later this year.
