BlackBerry gets PTT

Research In Motion (RIM), the Canadian vendor behind the BlackBerry device said Thursday that it has tapped Kodiak Networks to integrate push to talk (PTT) functionality on a number of devices.

The first device to feature the Java PTT client will be the BlackBerry Pearl available from Cingular Wireless.

The PTT feature set will include, availability/presence, call waiting, convert calls to cellular from PTT and voice messaging.
