French incumbent, France Telecom, confirmed Tuesday that it is being sued for Eur500m by Free, an ISP unit of Iliad.

Free accuses France Telecom of hindering the development of its broadband services.

According to reports in the French newspaper La Lettre de l’Expansion, the suit will be heard by the Paris Commercial Court. The news agency, Agence France-Presse, this morning ran a report where a spokesman for France Telecom said that “Free is claiming France Telecom ‘slowed, even blocked’ its development.”

The spokesman added that Free’s allegations are “totally without foundation”.
