Ericsson has upped the pressure on Samsung by filing a complaint with a US court for alleged infringement of 11 mobile phone patents. The Swedish mobile giant said the action was a continuation of the legal spat that began in February.

Ericsson claims Samsung continues to use disputed Ericsson technology after the expiration of a cross licensing agreement last year.

A spokesman for Ericsson said the firm is looking to secure a court order banning Samsung from using its technology without a license.

The patents relate to the GSM functionality required to operate a mobile phone.
