Chinese vendor Huawei has signed a deal with English Premier League football club Arsenal FC.

The partnership will see the two organizations collaborate globally, with Arsenal players and staff also taking part in Huawei’s promotional activities both in the UK and abroad.

The tie up will also see Huawei offer exclusive offers and content at Arsenal matches as well as increased brand presence at games. As part of the deal, Arsenal will also offer Huawei access to its marketing database and match day hospitality at the Emirates Stadium.

The deal, which sees Huawei named as Arsenal’s official smartphone partner, will last until the end of the 2015-16 season and was announced at the club’s training ground in Hertfordshire. Club manager Arsène Wenger, along with players Aaron Ramsey, Lukas Podolski and Mesut Özil attended the launch of the partnership and it will be officially announced to fans at the Emirates Stadium prior to Arsenal’s match against Fulham this weekend.

“This is the first global deal we have signed with a Chinese brand, demonstrating our long-term commitment to the market through pre-season tours and sustained digital fan engagement,” said Tom Fox, chief commercial officer at Arsenal FC.
