South Korean manufacturer Samsung has appointed the former president of its Southeast Asia division, Gregory Lee, as president of Samsung Telecommunications America.

Gregory Lee takes his role immediately and is responsible for leading the company’s mobile business operations

South Korean manufacturer Samsung has appointed the former president of its Southeast Asia division, Gregory Lee, as president of Samsung Telecommunications America.

Lee will assume his role immediately and is responsible for leading the company’s mobile business operations.

His tenure as South East Asian president lasted three years. Prior to that, he was the head of global marketing operations in the Korea HQ.

Outgoing president Dale Sohn, will return to Korea as executive advisor to co-CEO J.K. Shin, who also heads up the IT and mobile communications division.

During Sohn’s seven year tenure, Samsung became number one in the US mobile phone market, Samsung said.
