T-Mobile UK on Tuesday announced the launch of the Sidekick 3 device, which is being offered with the web’n’walk tariff for £7.50 per month in addition to a voice plan.

The device, which is based on the Danger platform, features a trackball, a media player, a 1.3 megapixel digital camera, a mini-SD card slot, Bluetooth and EDGE connectivity.

The Sidekick device was made (in)famous last year, when Paris Hilton’s own Sidekick II was ‘hacked’, exposing her personal data. It should be noted that the device itself was not at fault, the Sidekick set up means that all content is actually stored remotely, on a server on T-Mobile’s network. T-Mobile is now understood to have closed any security holes related to this event.
