Openet has launched its Digital Enterprise Solutions serving the wholesale market, which includes free-to-use edition of Openet’s Digital Enterprise Gateway and Digital Enterprise Practice.
The Digital Enterprise Gateway provides single interconnect point to multiple applications and packet gateways, aimed at simplifying internal network routing rules. Openet hope for wholesale customers it will reduces the complexity, simplifies the on-boarding process of new customers, provides real-time accounting reports and reduces operational costs. The team claim using such services will enable customers to focus on customer delivery and the deployment of new offers and services.
“Operators have made significant investments in their wireless network infrastructure in the past decade, and as a result, we have seen a noticeable growth in wholesale business to harness that connectivity.” said Niall Byrne, GVP of Managed Services and Enterprise at Openet. “Rich offerings and subscriber experience are key for both wholesale customers and providers, and our DEG will not only enable those capabilities, but do so in a more efficient way.”
The Digital Enterprise Practice will see the firm offer three new services which are currently available to network operators, but not previously to enterprise customers. These services include consultancy, an MVNE platform offering a suite of BSS/OSS functionality, and ongoing support and Managed Services.
“We’ve called upon our years of technical experience, operational excellence and business knowledge to allow operators to support the unique needs of wholesale customers,” said Byrne. “We can supply the critical end-to-end business functions which allow any enterprise to get up and running fast. This is becoming increasingly important given the digital transformation taking place in the market. With so much change taking place, our heritage puts us in a strong position to guide customers through the entire process, providing a full suite of consultancy, solution and support services to meet their different needs”.
This is not the first time the team has made moves in the market by introducing a freemium model. Back in January, the firm made its VNF Lifecycle Manager software available for free from March 2016 in a bid to promote openness and standardization of NFV.
The Irish tech firm is comparable to the freemium business model which is common in the consumer world, but less so in business. Openet are one of the firms who are leading the charge with this model, the success of which remains to be seen in the telco and enterprise IT space.
