Turkish operator Turkcell has enlisted HP to deliver a cloud services platform, so the carrier can sell on ‘as a service’ offerings to its business customers.
Turkcell is using HP’s CloudSystem service provider architecture to provide its business customers with infrastructure as a service (IaaS) and communications as a service (CaaS) offering via an online marketplace, giving users utility pricing and the flexibility of an on-demand services model. Storage, networking, messaging and business voice services, will be among the first services on offer.
The benefits, pitched by Turkcell, are more predictable operating costs, low capital investment and minimal risk in new technology adoption, as well as the flexibility to adapt quickly to market changes and customer needs.
“Turkcell intends to be the ‘one-stop shop’ for cloud-based services for businesses in Turkey,” said Ilker Kuruoz, chief information and communication technologies officer, Turkcell.
