Sweden’s telecommunications regulator, PTS, has said that it will hold an auction for wireless broadband licences for in the 3.6GHz-3.8GHz band in either October or November.
The spectrum on offer is sufficient for four licences per municipality – two FDD licences of 2x20MHz each and two TDD licences of 40MHz each.
The licences will be for 15 years and will be offered on a technology and service neutral basis.
The licence requirements will not contain any rollout obligations.
An open invitation for bids is scheduled for June with final registration in late August. The auction will take between one and two weeks to complete and will be held online.
