Google TV hits Europe
Online TV revenues to double in five years

The web TV offering from Google has landed on European shores two years after Google TV launched in the USA. Starting this week, Google TV devices will be available for pre-order in the UK through a partnership with Sony, which is integrating the application with its Internet Player hardware.

Sony’s plans for 2012 include bringing the Internet Player with Google TV to Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Mexico and Netherlands.

The set-top box allows users to browse the internet through their TV, with services like YouTube re-tailored for the big screen. The box will cost around £200 when it is released in July.
