Network test and measurement firm exited the telecoms space on Thursday when it sold its wireless testing operations to fixed line measurement firAgilent m JDSU.
JDSU, which has test and measurement platforms for fibre optics and broadband, acquired the Agilent business for $165m in cash.
The acquisition includes Agilent’s Long Term Evolution (LTE) and 4G, network verification and deployment product and will beef up JDSU’s offerings in the wireless and 4G markets.
The Agilent unit has approximately 700 employees with business operations located in Colorado, the UK, Singapore and Beijing, which will presumably be transferred to JDSU under the deal.
