One of Britain’s biggest cities, Newcastle, is set to become another wireless city by the middle of next year, according to BT.

The British incumbent says it will install Wireless City equipment on existing street furniture and lamp posts in the city centre, giving coverage for users with wifi hardware.

BT said it will be responsible for funding the entire rollout of the Wireless Cities Network. All development and operational costs will be borne solely by BT the firm said.
