Mobily and Huawei Sign Cooperation Agreement for Network Development

[Barcelona, Spain, February 25, 2019] Etihad Etisalat “Mobily” and Huawei signed a cooperation agreement between the two parties in the field of network and operational transformation in order to improve the quality of Mobily services, in addition to reducing the operational costs of networks. The signing ceremony was held on Monday 25 February 2019 between Eng Maziad Al-Harbi, Chief Technology Officer at Mobily and Zhang Dongliang, CEO of Huawei Tech Investment Saudi Arabia, at the International Telecom Conference in Barcelona.

Under the agreement, Mobily will deploy a simplified and pioneering network in 2019, aiming to maximize the benefits of structuring operational expenses and preparing for future automatic operation. The simplified network includes a multi-band, multi-band; And Mobily will launch an automatic operating solution in 2019 to improve the quality and efficiency of operation.

Commenting on the agreement, Eng. Mezid Al Harbi commented on Mobily’s rapid development in terms of technology and services. We are working to strengthen the infrastructure of the company based on two pillars: efficiency and quality of this technology and its ability to reduce operational costs. Which will be reflected on the quality of services provided both to the business sector or individuals, and improves the company’s financial resources.

Al-Harbi pointed out that the infrastructure of the company is in line with the stages of digital transformation witnessed by the various services provided by government agencies and the private sector, which accelerated the implementation of many of them. We in Mobily follow the developments and needs of different sectors and we are working to bring the technologies that enable them to accelerate the process of digital transformation Objectives of the vision of the Kingdom 2030.

Mobily and Huawei are collaborating in the development of networks or human competencies that contribute to the digital transformation witnessed in the Kingdom. The first joint ICT Academy between the two companies was recently established to reduce the gap between the supply and demand of human resources in the ICT sector.
