Pre-staging reduces network rollout time by 50%, says Transmode

Packet optical networking specialist Transmode on Wednesday unveiled a pre-staging service for network deployment that is designed to reduce the time it takes to push a new network live.

The pre-staging tool has been developed through the experience Transmode gained in custom building networks remotely for clients and can now be offered to all customers. The service facilitates a network rollout by pre-building, pre-configuring and testing the exact network configuration in Transmode’s facilities before shipping to the customer’s premises.

The idea is to reduce on-site time, simplify logistics and ensures quality by building, patching and configuring the equipment chassis in a controlled environment prior to shipping to site.

According to Dan Rydberg, the company’s VP operations and customer service, the company is seeing a trend that more and more customers are asking to deploy their network equipment using a pre-staging service. “The Pre-Staging service will help our customers reduce network deployment time and speed up time to revenue. Specifically it will reduce on-site time by up to 50 per cent compared to deployments that have not been pre-staged,” he said.
