Korean kit vendor Samsung plans to demonstrate 4G mobile technology for what it claims is the first time in the world, at its 4G Forum on Jeju Island, Korea this week.

The vendor said it will demonstrate data speeds of 3.5Gbps using 8X8 MIMO(Multi-Input Multi-Output) technology, as well as standard nomadic speeds of 1Gbps.

There will also be a demonstration of mobile 4G taking place in a specially designed bus, which promises to deliver 100Mbps data transmission moving at speeds of 60kmph.

Spectrum allocation for 4G technology is expected to be decided on at the World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC) in October 2007, while the 4G mobile communications format is expected to become commercially available around 2010.
