Huawei remains defiant in the face of US sanctions

At its Connect 2020 event, besieged telecoms vendor Huawei vowed to endure the difficulties created for it by US sanctions.

The opening keynote was delivered by Huawei rotating Chairman Guo Ping (pictured), with the theme of ‘creating new value with synergy across five tech domains’. Ping vowed that Huawei will keep investing in the following areas despite the challenges it faces: connectivity, computing, cloud, and AI. The identity of the fifth tech domain remains a mystery.

Underlying all this talk of soldiering on was a call for Huawei’s partners to hang in there and help it weather the storm. “As you know, Huawei is in a difficult situation these days,” said Ping. “Nonstop aggression from the US government has put us under significant pressure. Right now, survival is the goal. As Alexandre Dumas said, ‘All human wisdom is summed up in two words – wait and hope.’”

To press home the message, Ping concluded his keynote as follows: “Before I go, I would like to leave you with a quote from Walt Whitman: “Keep your face always toward the sunshine and shadows will fall behind you. 2020 has been a year of grave uncertainties for everyone. Let’s keep our faces toward the sunshine, and we’ll get through this together.”

Given the situation Huawei finds itself in, this is probably the best approach Huawei can take right now. It is acknowledging the situation it finds itself in without playing the victim or agonizing about matters it can’t control. The best way to persuade its partners not to lose hope is to project continuing strength, ambition and financial stability.

There are reports that Ping subsequently called on the US to reconsider its policy, but that request is probably more futile than ever after China finally decided to retaliate with its own list of foreign companies to victimize. As everyone has discovered this year, we’re all just pawns in the hands of flawed politicians whose interests only occasionally overlap with our own.

“He cites a 2013 report by cyber-security firm Mandiant, which revealed the existence of a major Internet-espionage organization in Shanghai, likely “Unit 61398” of the People’s Liberation Army. Mandiant tracked thefts of data from 141 companies in 20 major industries.”

Xi and CCP’s common to Chinese business: Don’t develop. Hack and Steal.

No wonder the map includes the 9-dash line under Chinese territory. This is not just a children’s film. This is Chinese propaganda. “

US: you stole our 5 G technology
Huawei: You don’t even have 5G technology!
US: That is because you stole it!

Does US have 5g? No. Does US have superior telecommunication equipment like Huawei? No. Is Huawei an industry leader by a long shot? Yes. How does stealing gets to be the best in a scientific field? You are truly brain washed… Fool

As they say, be careful with what you wished for. The CCP is just learning from the colonial powers of exploitation, loot, and steal from China 200 years ago.

All governments spy – it’s no secret! What makes the CCP any different to the NSA?

If the current US policy remains unchanged, the US chip industry is doomed. The Chinese are already developing their own chip industry and once they get ready, not only no Chinese company will buy from the USA, but the Chinese industry will become a formidable competition. Here are a couple of examples that show how the Chinese developed their industries.
The US government stopped the transfer of nuclear power plant technology to China, so the Chinese developed their own. Now they are selling it round the world.
After the pressure from the US, China was excluded from European Galileo satelite positioning system. They developed Beidou which is currently the best of its kind.
Thanks to Sen. Tom Cotton, Chinese are forbidden to cooperate with NASA, so they are now exercising their own Mars mission, they were the first to land their space craft on the dark side of the Moon, and they are building their own space station.

One day China will be the # one chip maker in the world. All USA companies can only admire. See you!

The logo of Huawei sums up its determinations to succeed. The battered plane would overcome all vissitudes and fly higher and faster!! The politicians have their own personal agendas and they will not succeed, not against the will of survival in spite of all odds. US never learn, not even after Vietnam!!

      Spot on Kay
This whole ban by the us has nothing to do with so called spying/data theft but solely on trade and the US’s jealousy of China’s economy
HUAWEI will become stronger after all of this

The US government has to come up with a different foreign policy for the 21st century, sanctions and wars are destructive and too many countries populations are suffering because of its effects.

For all these years, Microsoft and Google, srealing the information of other countries and made over to CIA for doing espionage on all other countries. Now America is doing propaganda against Huawei China are doing the same thing what they are doing for all the years. Real demon is America. For all these years it tried to suppress the innovations of other countries. Now China finally is trying to break the monopoly. Now US rattles against China to sustain its technological superiority aquired for all these years. Huawei to win this conflict to safeguard the prestige of Asian countries.
