IOH and Huawei sign an MOU on Joint IP network Innovation
Information-based development leads to the explosive growth of Internet applications worldwide. With the growing scale of networks and the advent of the cloud era, increasingly more network services are emerging. In turn, these services impose increasingly more requirements on networks. SRv6, as a next-generation IP transport protocol, is bound to lead industry development.
As a leading digital telco in Indonesia, IOH continues to drive growth in both the telco industry and Indonesia’s digital economy with its solid performance in 2022, the first Full Year (FY) since its merger. IOH has worked with Huawei in multiple fields since 2005 and started to build the first SRv6-based 5G-ready converged transport network in the Asia-Pacific region together with Huawei in 2020. IOH and Huawei will work together to pursue the goal of connecting and empowering the people of Indonesia by accelerating the nation’s digital transformation.
Desmond Cheung, Chief Technology Officer of IOH, said that the cooperation between IOH and Huawei will strongly promote the development of the mobile communication industry. The two parties will work together to provide higher-quality network services with better customer experience through IP network convergence, network architecture convergence, and network architecture optimization. This will also help IOH pioneer intelligent digital transformation and set a benchmark for the global digital economy.
Meanwhile, Gary Lu, President of Huawei’s Network Marketing and Solution Sales Department, stressed that the global technology leader will continue to innovate and push the boundaries. With leading technologies in intelligent IP converged transport and extensive experience in commercialization, Huawei will help IOH make breakthroughs in SRv6 application and deliver more diversified communication services for local users. Huawei looks forward to working with industry partners and drawing on its advantages in SRv6 technology innovation and SRv6 deployment experience to empower various industries and facilitate the development of the digital economy.
