Open RAN Ecosystem
November 10, 2020
Date: Dec 8, 2020
Open RAN (O-RAN) is a new way to build mobile networks. By disaggregating the base station and introducing programmatic control of RAN functions, there is an opportunity to create more cost-effective mobile access networks that can be better adapted to different deployment scenarios and offer excellent system performance. This is dependent on open interfaces, real-world interoperability, industrialization of the supply chain and repeatable system integration.
Day 1 of Light Reading’s Open RAN Ecosystem Symposium will focus on the status of open RAN standards, technology and commercial activity. It will also look at how to scale the ecosystem for mass deployment.
Day 2 of Light Reading’s Open RAN Ecosystem Symposium will focus on two of the key technical aspects of open RAN: optimization of the radio chain from RU to DU and the introduction of software-driven operations to the RAN.
