RIM to miss Q2 deadline

Research In Motion (RIM) has warned that it will not be able to meet the October 17th deadline for reporting its Q2 financial results.

RIM said Friday that it will need to review certain figures before filing its report, due to a potential “technical error” under US accounting rules.

A management and insider cease-trade order will be issued to prevent RIM’s senior executives and directors from trading stock in the company until all results are reported publicly.
