UK psychologists make link between 5G conspiracy theorists and violence

Psychologists at Northumbria University believe they have provided the first scientific evidence between 5G COVID-19 conspiracy theories and violence towards the telecoms sector.

While the results of this experiment could be applied to any conspiracy theory where the harm is directed towards individuals not society at large, the work here specifically examined the impact of the COVID-19 related stories, namely that the coronavirus pandemic is a cover-up for the health consequences of 5G.

“Disconcertingly, the consequences of conspiracy theories are significant and wide-ranging,” said Daniel Jolley, a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at the university. “Our novel findings extend our understanding and provide the first empirical link between 5G COVID-19 conspiracy beliefs and violent reactions, alongside uncovering why (anger) and when (paranoia) conspiracy beliefs may justify the use of violence.”

You can read the full research paper, which was submitted to the British Journal of Social Psychology here.

The research focused on testing 601 individuals to understand how validated violence was in the minds of those who saw some sort of credibility in the conspiracy theories. In short, the individuals who were more inclined to believe the conspiracy theories, but also displayed some sort of paranoid behaviour were much more likely to be open to violent actions.

This is of course applicable to multiple different conspiracy theories where the negative is directly consequential to the individual as opposed to a concept, such as society or the economy, but it is very relevant to the word we find ourselves in today.

With the world searching for an explanation for the coronavirus pandemic, some decided to offer credibility to certain conspiracy theories. Whilst simultaneously ignoring statements from scientists and medical professionals that it was impossible for 5G to cause a flu-like virus, sub-strains of the conspiracy theory began to develop. Soon enough, a small minority of individuals took action.

In several locations across the UK, telecoms infrastructure was attacked by the ill-informed, believing they were protecting society from COVID-19 by attacking 5G antenna and threatening staff. Ironically, much of the damaged infrastructure was in fact 4G, none of the threatened staff had anything to do with 5G deployments, and the infrastructure being destroyed was the exact same networks enabling emergency services to work and scientists to create a vaccine.

This article is flawed because they don’t believe the 5g creates a virus, they believe the 5g creates respiratory problems and/or weakens the immune system and therefore creates more cases that might be mistaken as a virus.

Quite the coincidence that Woohan was the first place to get 100000 5g towers and it killed 3000 people.
Then you look at Italy, same thing, and so on and so in, we are being lied to about everything else revolving Covid, why would they not lie about this.
Actually, all the damage control, and “science based” proof they are coming out with tell me we are onto something with the 5G Covid connection.

Just goes to prove that the majority of Brits are as thick as pig shit, probably been smoking too much dope.

If course it’s 5g, same symptoms as from mm waves, wake up you sheep , government suddenly have s guilty conscience pulling Huawei from uk……..

Wendy, It’s spelt Wuhan. Perhaps you’re confusing it with the “Woo-Hoo” sound one makes when having fun….easily done I know.

One is a province, the other an onomatopoeia.

If you can’t be bothered getting your spelling right/reviewing your comment, this suggests you:

    1) don’t take pride in your opinions;
    2) have a short attention span;
3)lack an eye for detail; and
    4) have this irrepressible urge of wanting to be heard – no matter how ridiculous it sounds.

Don’t worry, this has been going on for a while.

A few years ago there was a rumour in India that terrorists were calling people up and playing a frequency that killed one instantaneously. The clue was the incoming caller display would be in Red. -() It urged everyone not to pick up the phone!!

Of course, everyone is out to “get you”. Because you are special right?

My suggestion is retake your GCSE Physics (assuming you took one), and if you pass that hurdle, remember the answer to any question in the universe is 42!

@Michael “have s guilty conscience”. All the above applies to you as well.

I bet you wouldn’t go outside without checking whether you had your trousers on. Please try and apply the same standards when you post.

    I’m not holding my breath.

BTW – I’ve had a 5G connection a day after the network went live in the UK….

      Wow!! How opinionated are you?!

You are seriously calling people out for voicing there opinions? Listen here u jumped up, pompous, low life keyboard warrior!! At least they don’t follow the political narrative that you obviously do. Why is it so wrong to be open minded and have your own opinion on such stories that rip through all our lively hoods?

Prove to me that all is as it seems and there’s no possibility of foul play, prove to me COVID-19 was caused by a animal in wuhan! I have read multiple times they cannot track the source it’s all guess work.

Covid is 5G. Fact- obvious. mm waves causes toxic reactions at cell level thus parcelling up a viral infection making us contagious. Why would they be taking sample tissue at death.. SAR (sample absorption rate) – hence why fat people are more effected. Bexley in london trialled 5G early – most covid deaths london.

  6. Avatar john 18/09/2020 @ 9:02 pm

This article is so poor.. it claims – its impossible for 5G to cause flu like virus — well what is 5G a user targeted high frequency mm wave – mm waves heat the body so enough exposure causes damage.. hence why we use radiotherapy to kill cancer cells.
What a terrible poor attempt at telling us we are nutters.
    Ban 5G

It is difficult to know whether those who appear to be supporters of 5g conspiracy theory or any other conspiracy theory are genuine nutters or are just trolling.

How about googling “ long term studies of 5G on immune system in humans“ and exploring scientific discourse that holds the primary interest of wellbeing of living organisms. This “conspiracy theory” angle is always consistently ignoring the facts, such as total lack of scientific proof that 5G is safe for wide, constant, long term use. Is it strengthening or weakening biological organisms? If it is weakening only by a tiny fraction it should be avoided. Prove its safety first, THEN it can be rolled out. There’s mounting scientific evidence to prove that exposure to 5G is harmful to organisms. The evidence will continue to mount and truth will come out, just like it did with tobacco, pesticides etc etc, but at what cost and to how many people’s quality of life?

    • Avatar D Krugerand 17/11/2020 @ 12:20 pm

Where is ‘the mounting evidence’ please ? This doesn’t include videos by non scientists on you tube. ie Peer reviewed articles in a scientific journal.

As a layman with no real scientific understanding and certainly no conspiracy theorist, I find this article and comments fascinating. I remember these arguments on the news in early 2019. Then the phone companies switched to 5G from May 2019 to Jan 2020, Sky being the last. Then Covid appears on TV feb 2020. Coincidence? I Personally think we all received a low dose radiation hit when 5G came online which reduced our immune systems. Covid and all the rules around it is just a distraction tactic from this fact and a strategy to allow us time to Rebuild our immune systems. Either way, there seems to have been a cock up in measuring the impact of 5G on our bodies. Were any proper investigations made prior to the switch to 5G? I seem to remember Belgium had issues?

  10. Avatar D Krugerand 17/11/2020 @ 12:17 pm

If anyone can provide any scientific evidence from any peer reviewed work to show that non ionising radiation used in 5G affects living tissue I will take this subject seriously. Spoiler Alert – you won’t find any.

      I can I’m afraid.

  11. Avatar Michael Martin 24/11/2020 @ 7:05 am

I can prove from start to finish the 5g theory is definitely true. Including switch on and cleaning down process. They’ve been good and I will use the word prove improper because the proving it and people actually believing it are very hard to do. Beciase the mainstream media have certainly brainwashed everyone into thinking you can’t get close to people incase you catch the virus. And of course what you write isn’t strictly true. As radiation poisoning of any sorts does cause flu like symptoms. So maybe re write what you wrote.

  12. Avatar Chris 03/12/2020 @ 12:14 am

“I can prove from start to finish the 5g theory is definitely true”

I am as near 100% sure as is possuble that you cannot do that but since you can, please do so.

“Beciase the mainstream media have certainly brainwashed everyone into thinking you can’t get close to people incase you catch the virus.”

I think that it is medics who warn of the increased risk of catching the virus if you get close to people.

I think that you need to ask yourself why vaccine trial data has shown that people who received the vaccine were less likely to fall ill than people who received rhe placebo.

  13. Avatar Bob 03/12/2020 @ 12:05 pm

Former telecom CEO blows the whistle .

5G is causing radiation poisoning and the flu like symptoms.

There is a direct correlation on the map between he highest infection rate and 5G towers.

You can stomp your feet and whine all you want to.

Remember there was a time when smoking did not cause lung cancer, because there was no so called proof or peer reviewed studies.

It Was the studies that caused the tobacco to cause cancer. Because before the studies the narrative was smoking doesn’t cause cancer.

The same thing is going on here. Voice after voice is being silenced by those wanting to control the narrative.

Unless you have something invested, there is no reason to censor anything.
If 5G is so great then it would sell itself.

There would be no reason to keep silencing people in the know who have decided to blow the whistle.

  14. Avatar Chris 04/12/2020 @ 3:18 pm

“There is a direct correlation on the map between he highest infection rate and 5G towers.”

That is interesting to hear. Can you point me to a data source, please? You are not theorising. You are saying that there exists an association between the number of people infected and the location of 5G towers, so those 2 things must have been recorded. How else could that observation gave been made?

  15. Avatar Chris 07/12/2020 @ 6:51 pm

I think the 5G believers will face a problem in the coming months in the form of very few people who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 falling ill. That should not happen if 5G is the source of the illness.
