T-Mobile Czech Republic selects Huawei for LTE

The Czech Republic’s largest mobile operator by subscriber numbers, T-Mobile Czech Republic, has selected Chinese infrastructure vendor Huawei to deploy its LTE network.

The operator said the deal was signed following a successful trial with Huawei in the city of Mlada Boleslav. The network will offer mobile internet speeds of up to 150 Mbps and will support LTE in the 800MHz, 1800MHz and 2600MHz bandwidths, according to T-Mobile. The firm added that the infrastructure also enables it to share its LTE network.

“A big task lies ahead of us – to continue the success of our 3G network, which is the best performing network in the Czech Republic,” said Frank Meywerk, CTO at T-Mobile Czech Republic. “I am confident that we will offer the best high-speed experience to our customers also with our LTE services.”

T-Mobile Czech Republic had over  5.4 million subscribers in December 2012, according to Informa’s WCIS.

The LTE World Summit, the premier 4G event for the telecoms industry, is taking place on the 24th-26th June 2013, at the Amsterdam RAI, Netherlands. Click here to download a flyer for the event.
