37% of UK online sales now over mobile

While online retailers roll their Black Friday bargains over to Cyber Monday – and probably beyond – research shows that an increasing amount of online sales are being made via smartphones and tablets, and this trend is continuing – but this does not mean smaller crowds, as consumers are also switching to ‘click & collect’ services.

Ericsson, NTT and Verizon are among those looking to contribute to and benefit from the initiative, which is indicates how seriously telcos are looking at digging deeper into the cloud stack.

Capgemini, Orange, white label Joyn server

Consulting and outsourcing firm Capgemini has unveiled plans to bring a white label Joyn server to market. The rich messaging server was developed in collaboration with Orange and will enable mobile operators to brand and embed their own, out of the box version of the rich messaging service onto handsets, providing consumers with an alternative to over the top (OTT) applications.
